What do I need to remove in order to see potential source of power steering leak?

Check the rack pinion, follow the inner tie rod area where there is a boot covering over this. If there is power steering fluid there. You need to replace the entire rack pinion or get it rebuilt, the seals a shot

Leaks can be difficult to diagnose. As you can tell there is a lot of "stuff" that can get in the way of making a correct diagnosis. What can be removed to try to find the leak? I would try not to remove anything, it may disturb the leak source. The engine cover may be in the way, and if so definitely should get it out of the way. I would clean the area real well, and try to see from above and below what could be the source. Are you sure it is a power steering fluid leak and not engine oil? Dale
