I need to know how to check the engine coolant temperature sensor on a 2000 deville. My check engine light doesn't come on, but my temperature gauge rises.

The sensor you are looking for is just below the EGR valve. The quickest way to test it is look at its temperature value on a scan tool. If it is faulty it should set a code, I am sure the sensor is quite cheap from Napa or www.rockauto.com, if it gave a code it may be cheapest just to replace the sensor and "know" it is good.

Yes, This helps out because Iv'e changed the pump, thermostat, flushed the radiator, and chamged the hoses.
