my car is continuously over heating

i just got the water pump and thermostat replaced, im losing a lot of coolant and have to keep refilling the radiator with coolant. my car is still overheating the temp gets up to 260 which is incredibly bad and i dont know what else the problem could be. i do in fact need to do a tune up and an oil change on my car i dont know if that could be part of the problem. i am constantly driving for my job 6 days a week so i need this problem fixed asap.
