check engine light stays on after repairs

P503 was the current code for the light staying on. I have taken it to two Cadillac dealers and neither of them could tell me what was wrong. Do you think you have seen a problem like this before? Now, my A/C won't come on. I am about ready to ditch a really good car except for these problems. Any help you can give me would be appreciated.
