Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! If you’ve replaced the alternator, battery, and cables yet still see **“Service Charging System,”** it’s time to dig deeper. The issue could be the **voltage regulator**, which is integrated into the alternator on your DeVille but sometimes fails even in new or remanufactured units. Another suspect is the **body control module (BCM)** or the **powertrain control module (PCM)**, which monitor the charging system. If either is misreading alternator output, it can trigger that message without storing OBD codes. Finally, check the **fusible link** between the alternator and battery, as well as the ground connections (engine block to chassis). A weak ground can cause erratic voltage readings, confusing the system. If the wiring and modules check out, you might need a deep-dive diagnostic with a tech who can monitor live data.
