What would make a horn blow ea time the engine is turned off for about 12 hrs.

The first time this happened was 6am after disconnecting battery red terminal it stopped but we smelled something electrical burning. We took it to dealer after removing the relay until we got there and they put it back in and said it was the horn pad within the steering wheel and there are no replacements available. I don't believe that. I think there is a short between relay and horn.
