Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. If your CTS still acts like the battery is dead despite a new battery and alternator, there could be an issue with the battery cables, ground connection, or starter. First, inspect the battery cables for corrosion or wear and ensure they are tightly connected to both the battery and the starter. Corroded or loose connections can interfere with power delivery, causing the car to struggle to start. The ground strap, which connects the engine to the car's frame, is also critical; a bad ground can prevent proper power flow. If connections look good, the starter motor may be weak or failing, especially if it's struggling more when the engine is cold. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
