Seems that just recently the transmission is slow to shift in the lower gears but fine in higher gears. It seems that 1st gear is OK then the 2nd to 3rd is the issue and after that that and in higher gears is OK Trying to figure this out. No engine lights etc coming on.
What makes this problem better or worse?

These types of issues require a hands-on inspection. It's hard to guess on transmission issues because of the amount of work and difficulty level to repair them.
