i was charged more for the failure of gasket, oil flooded spark plugs and some coils six months after the 100K mile tune up which at the dealership, this tune up cost me over $1600.....to fix the near engine failure was close to $1800. on a 2004 CTS

Hello, at 100,000 miles, the spark plugs and fuel filter are scheduled for replacement. Keep in mind that this on a "normal schedule" is in between your normal oil and filter change intervals, which fall at 97,500 and 105,000 miles around your 100,000 mile marker. I'm not sure what you're asking -- It doesn't seem like a "gasket failure" could have been foreseen, requiring the oil flooded plugs to be replaced?
6months after the 100k mike tuneup the check engine light went on, as soon as that happened car got ROUGH, felt it was going to have engine failure, pulled over then when I took it back to dealership they said gasket failure that spilled oil and flooded the spark plugs and fryd coils.... I asked if gasket was new or old one.... service advisor said it was re used... Should the gasket have been replaced since it was the original upon the 100k tune up . It cost me $1700 Plus 6 month later more than that
I want to know if faults are on service center or if it's usual for gasket not to be replaced. I mean if it's a major tune up and parts ar old and worn, doesn't make sense to use old parts... especially like gaskets... it's like buying new shoes and then putting on stinky overworn dirty socks
Hello, it appears that the valve cover spark plug seals failed and leaked oil. Should they have been replaced automatically at the 100,000 mile service? Perhaps so. I would ask around local GM repair facilities to see if they would recommend doing that as a matter of maintenance. They do swell and dry rot over time due to age and contamination with oil. Not sure if you can really foresee the future on this, but it would reasonably be possible that they could fail when "tampered" with when removing the plugs. The other thing -- not sure what's going on with the injector replacement. And why coils were needed. But must have been verified as causing a misfire due to stress or some other failure as a result of the oil leak. Really sorry you had that experience, but honestly really hard to say any wrong was done.
Is this a valve cover gasket they replaced? Which gasket?
I’ll have to get back to this, it only states part number 12595277 gasket kit
That gasket is only for the plenum. There must be more to it than that. See what the documentation of the repair states. No oil fouling occurs there.
