Hello, That is an oil life gauge, and the oil level can be checked by the dipstick under the hood. In fact, I recommend doing that at least monthly. If your Cadillac does not tell you when to change the oil, follow the maintenance guide in the owners manual, but still check the oil often to ensure the vehicle is never run low.
