this car is very complex. if you need to ask these questions, I would advise that you take it to a good shop. The Catera engine is a dual over head cam Saab engine and it is REALLY, REALLY complicated to work on. many shops won't even touch it.

If you can't find drain plug on this car, don't try to find thermostat. Or better buy repair manual with 3 books! Very complicated car, but still love it!!!

The Thermostat is located underneath the intake manifold. the air intake and intake manifold along with the fuel injectors need to be removed. there is a lot more work to it than that. i recommend taking it into a shop.
