What is your question?
2013 cadillac ats 3.6 awd luxury: I had a whine in the front end. Mechanic recommended replace tcase with used one. Replaced tcase with used one 64k miles. Whine is still there. Now vehicle clicking when turning both ways. Sometime even going straight. Not all of the time though. Usually after vehicle has warmed up. Sound is almost like a card in the wheel of a bike. Then we replaced the front differential with a brand new one. Whine is gone but clicking is still there. Sometimes it goes away completely. Sometimes it is really loud. It happens mostly when turning, then it will go away completely after driving straight for awhile. I'm wondering if the tcase has a center differential in it. I think it is a bad used tcase. Mechanic is telling me that the car is AWD and should have always been this way. I've owned the car since brand new and never had this issue.

Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. My honest assessment is that your vehicle was misdiagnosed in the first place based off of the information I am reading. However it can always be a case of trying to replace one thing to recheck for the concern. It's hard to make any judgment on it from where I said to be honest. That said, at this point, I would definitely get a different opinion from a different technician. See the information below about finding a shop near you. Finding some perspective that you can rely on is something we find pretty important. The clicking noise sounds like it could be the result of a constant velocity joint that has grease issues or an axle issue to the wheels. Especially since it happens only at certain times when turning. A good technician should be able to isolate this noise with the car in the air on a lift. Loading one side or the other with weight when turning is what usually causes stress and makes the noise from a joint. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link or call us at 877-913-1554.
