Basically the fact that it cycles once after ignition, then dies. The engine keeps running if I apply gas to it but dies when I take the foot off the gas pedal

It may be just a matter of adjusting the idle a bit higher or you could have a small vacuum leak.It is also possible that your timing could be a little off

Tune up was done? Check for vacuum leaks as well.
