when i use the trunk electic release button the hood will not close when i use key i have no problem. how do i close hood when button is used?

there is a trunk lid button that is sticking, spray some wd40 on it or buy a new button at the local part store, cost is 10$, tells the trunk acuator that the trunk is open or closed
