hiccups intermittently all phases of driving

replaced coil modules and coils, ran great for 300 miles, now same problem is back. Previous owner had tranny serviced, much work done at buick dealership, lots of money in car. What causes the "herky jerky" and flucuation in rpms even sitting at a light? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
