05 rendezvous doesnt take off in D I can start out in 1 and manually shift up?

Was driving and it was sluggish until it wouldn’t move anymore. 1st works on flat ground, but with resistance like a hill it doesn’t want to move. I can shift through each gear to get to D. At this point it will work until I stop and have to start the process over again. Fluid is clean looking and at level. 159,xxx on Odom.
