How to check fuel injectors and if they are bad or not?

Fuel injectors are "bad" if they do not work electrically (which would set a trouble code), if they spray too much fuel (which would set a code for "rich" fuel trim), or if they do not spray fuel at all (which would set a code for misfire). There is no "test" for fuel injectors specifically other than learning what - if any - running concerns are present.
