What is your question?
I drive a 2002 Buick Rendezvous.. Every time I start the car a couple seconds later there is a rattling sound under neath my car on the driver side. I took it to Midas just today and the mechanic said he didn't know what it was but it looks like something that I don't need. Was wondering if any of you kind people would know what it is. I can definitely record a video and send you one if needed. I just want to know what this is.. The rattling sound is there for a couple minutes then goes away
What makes this problem better or worse?
Nothing. It's just a rattling sound that stops after it's been on awhile

It could be something with the exhaust or heat shield. Also a bad catalytic converter will cause a rattling. At this point your best bet is to bring it to another shop for a second opinion. Here is a link to find one near you. https://repairpal.com/repair-shops Alex
my ole truck did that for a while.start it up,sometimes sounded like a rod knocking(loud). it did this several times on start up,but couldn't hear it while driving, or sometimes at idle,so it wasn't a rod, cause that don't go away! it quit making that sound for 1 year, started back, took it to a muffler shop, quit before I got there. it started again in a couple weeks, took back to muffler shop, this time still rattling, replaced 1 converter.the inside had broken loose and was lodged inside somehow,so sometimes hear it,sometimes not,but fixed now @338,000 miles! maybe you'll get lucky and only be a heat shield rattling.good luck....
How long can I go before this becomes a serious problem?
