Hi! this is Bo with Car Genius at RepairPal! There are several reasons that the key can be hard to get out. Here are a few: Worn Key: Over time, the teeth on the key may become worn, causing the key to lose its proper alignment inside the ignition cylinder. Damaged Ignition Cylinder: The ignition cylinder is a component that facilitates the engagement and disengagement of the vehicle’s engine. Steering Wheel Lock: The steering wheel lock is a safety feature designed to prevent the vehicle from being moved without the key. Faulty Shifter: The automatic transmission shifter may fail, or a wire may break near the shifter causing the ignition key to become stuck in the ignition lock cylinder. Here are some solutions you can try: Jiggle the Key: Apply slight pressure to the key while carefully moving it back and forth! Adjusting the Steering Wheel: Your Buick Regal may be equipped with a steering lock system. In some cases, a misaligned steering wheel can bind the ignition switch, causing the key to be stuck. If these solutions do not work, it’s recommended to seek professional help. A mechanic can properly diagnose and fix the issue. Remember, forcefully trying to remove the key can cause further damage!
