What is your question?
My car idles rough and sounds like it constantly wants to die at low rpms. Once I get moving and the rpm is higher it sounds perfectly fine. Then when I checked the oil there was plenty, but I took out the oil cap and vapor was coming out and the cap looked like it was covered in a yellow goop substance akin to mustard. With the sounds getting worse and the new substance, I am beginning to become very concerned for the longevity of my car.
What makes this problem better or worse?
It’s worse when the engine is hot, and better at any higher rpm than idle.
How long has your 2012 Buick Regal had this problem?

Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. You may have normal condensation occurring in the engine crank case which is causing that yellow colored film to appear on the oil cap. Or, you could have an internal engine coolant leak as well. Hard to guess from where I sit, so hands-on testing would be needed to find out what's going on. Your concern about the engine wanting to die may or may not be related to this. A diagnostic test engine performance is needed to find out what's happening as well. Regardless of whether the concerns are linked, they are both worthy of being looked into. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link or call us at 877-913-1554.
