Not slipping, no loss of power, no change in rpm, just a hard shift. Shutting the car off for 30sec and restarting fixes it. Car needs to be hot and running in city traffic for 30-40min for it to happen. Engine sounds higher pitched even when idling when it does this. It doesnt happen much over the winter but now that its warmer its happening everyday after its been running about that long.

Not 100% sure but probably, Its the trans pump/solenoid whining, u prob have a longshaft hard shift code stored in your computer. It happens more when its hot and at about 15-30 mph. Try listening near the master cylinder reservoir and see if the whine is more pronounced. They have shift kits for these cars most mechanics can install and change trans filter and it helps greatly. The shift kit is a transgo shift kit .... Also use seafoam trans additive to help clean.... and add lucas trans fix when you have fluid changed.... DO not get all fluid changed just change what comes out of the trans pan and filter....about 7 quarts. DO NOT get complete trans flushed
