No dimmer switch is turned up, have checked light bulbs on dash cluster panel they all are good but not working.
when you say dash lights quit working,do you mean just the instrument cluster lights or all dash lights, radio,HVAC controls, etc? you have TESTED ALL FUSES with a test light with the key on,checking both sides of each fuse, correct?
just the cluster lights, the lights to see at night, for speedometer, rpm,gas gauge, oil gauge and the gears. I can not locate the fuse for the dash lights... Ive heard its part of tail lights, however they work fine
any work been done in the trunk area to maybe damage any wires,or any work been done anywhere?
NOo there hasn't the dash lights were working fine since we got car, then got in it one day and were not working. we've tried the bulbs in the panel cluster, and even tried to replace cluster panel(of course we had gotten from junk yard) was told to replace 150 ohm resistors (1/4 watt) on the panel board but wasnt able to find that exact watt anywhere, thats why we opted to just replace cluster panel. but it was failed attempt. I really appreciate your iinput , because we really dont know anything about this ..
i had a problem on my 2000 f150..only thing that didn't work was the digital odometer(could not see my miles)drove me crazy! i started researching it and found it to be a very common problem on the F150,F250,F350,Expedition,Explorer,Navigator,etc. it is a cold/cracked solder joint. i found step by step instructions with pictures..i said to myself,i'm gonna do this! took all the trim loose.removed the cluster, took it in the house, gotta have a magnifier, sure enough, cracked joints.fixed it for bout 5 cents worth of solder and a couple hours! happy now. that was fixed at 287,000 miles, now has 321,000 miles on it! called ford dealer after i fixed it(didn't tell em i already fixed it. they said Yep,common problem on 97-03 F150's.i said,i want to fix it,they said NO FIX? got to take to them and new cluster has to be put in for $1200.00???i still didn't tell em i already fixed it,just said thank you.research, you will find the fix somewhere..video below on 3.1 with odometer blackout, your vehicle, resistors bad.copy and paste, watch it,he said 99 cent fix?.good luck... www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebTS25sNOHQ
