What is your question?
I was driving my car after an oil change. The oil light flashed and a message came across the dash saying “low engine oil pressure shut down engine”
How long has your 2009 Buick Lucerne had this problem?
A couple days

Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. I am sorry to hear about the concern. First of all, did you stop the engine and pull over? Right or wrong, it's better to err on the side of caution. You certainly would not want to have an engine failure if it can be avoided. It is suspect that the oil was just changed and you are having this issue. I would make sure that you have oil in your engine before proceeding. If the oil is low or gone from your dipstick, have the vehicle towed back to the place the service was performed. Low oil pressure could be due to low oil level - maybe not enough oil put into the engine, maybe a drain plug leaking or missing, maybe an oil filter leaking. It could also be due to an internal engine problem unrelated to the oil change. And also - it could be due to an oil pressure switch not working properly. Get ahead of it and check oil level first.
