What is your question?
My car battery went dead with the key in accessory position. It is now stuck and I can’t remove it. I have already jump started it and it will crank but the key still won’t come out.
How long has your 2009 Buick Lucerne had this problem?

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! It sounds like your key is stuck in the accessory position even after jump-starting your 2009 Buick Lucerne. Sometimes when the battery dies with the key in a certain position, it can cause the ignition cylinder to lock up. Here’s what you can try: First, make sure the vehicle is fully in Park or Neutral, as sometimes the key won’t release if it’s not in the correct gear. Next, try turning the steering wheel gently left and right while attempting to remove the key. Sometimes, the steering wheel lock can interfere with the key release. If that doesn’t work, you may need to jiggle the key slightly while trying to remove it, as this can sometimes help release it from the lock position. If none of these methods work, it’s best to have a professional look at it to avoid damaging the ignition cylinder.
