Why is my 2002 Buick Le Sabre rear brakes engaging when I put the car in drive?

Hello, I cannot imagine why the rear brakes are engaging unless there is a malfunction of the anti-lock braking system or perhaps the hydraulic braking system. Either way, some hands on testing is needed to figure out what's going on. I have no words of suggestion without having the car evaluated in person.
