whining noise

my 95 buick lasabre started making a whining noise in the engine compartment, no lights are on n it runs good. seems to be coming from left or drivers side. when driving the noise goes up n down with each trans shift. put in park rev engine noise goes up n down. thought it might b alt. or power steering but noise is coming from other side. trottle body side.
