Your key should have a resistor in it,when u put the key in the ignition the resistor makes contact in side the switch,allowing the car to start,if u have another key for this car try that second key,if still no start try spraying a electrical contact cleaner (suitable for this procedure,check with your auto parts store) into the ignition switch to clean the contacts, may be dirty.
