Check engine codes

What is your question?

I just started getting the 'service engine soon' light and had it scanned with 10 code failures and cleared those codes. The next day after driving 10 miles, it came on again and went to the shop to have it scanned and had 12 code failures and only 2 were repeated from the first scan. Does this sound like the computer control module is gone, or should I try to eliminate the codes by trial and error?
