The airbag light indicates that the computer has detected a malfunction in the airbag system and has diagnostic codes and data stored which would be essential in diagnosing the problem. A technician with a scanner can access the diagnostic codes and data and then be able to give you a diagnosis. I have a 2006 Buick Allure/Lacrosse with the same problem, luckily I am an engineer so I understand that usually problems uccure around moving parts.Buick puts its drivers side airbag module under the passengers seat,the passengers seat when moved forward or backwards has the wiring harness attached to it the only problem is that it gets caught on the seat rail digging into the wires and causeing a ground fault to your module.Also in a very easy place for kids feet to kick and get hung up in.You should see some damage to the outer coragatted armer that will indicate an issue.Its very ever a module gone.
