When I start my car it starts fine but it says it’s in neutral and when you press the brake to move gears it doesn’t move it only moves when you manually press the button what part would I need to replace. The brake lights work when the brakes are pressed
What makes this problem better or worse?

Hi - Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. I am sorry to say that I do not know what part you need - you say when you press the brake the shift mechanism does not allow gears to move, but when you "manually press the button" it does - I'm not sure what that means.
