What is your question?
I went to jiffy lube to try and get an oil change when i was told they could not do it because i had a high pressure oil leak near the transmission. I was quoted by the mechanic shop next to it about $1000 to fix it. I didn’t get it fixed yet I’m trying to see what my best options are because the car is only worth $900 tbh.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Oil leak
How long has your 2005 Buick LaCrosse had this problem?
I found out yesterday

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. So sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. If you've been told there's an oil leak near the transmission of your LaCrosse, it could be something like a leaking oil pressure sensor, oil cooler lines, or a rear main seal. Given that your car is worth around $900, spending $1,000 on repairs might not be the most economical choice. One option is to get a second opinion from another mechanic to confirm the diagnosis and see if a cheaper fix is available. If the leak is manageable and the car is still drivable, you might consider checking your oil level frequently as a temporary solution, but this certainly has its risks. If the leak is severe, it's essential to weigh the cost of repairs against the car's value. Selling it as-is or trading it in might be a more practical option. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
