Air conditioner fan is making an odd noise. Still runs when car is turned off.

What is your question?

The fan started making a rattling, almost roaring noise about one minute after we stopped to get gas. We tried to turn the vehicle off but the fan continued to run with the motor turned off. We tried starting and turning the vehicle on and off several time s, the fan continued to run. I just happen to plug my phone into charge it and the fan noise abruptly stopped. So we have proceeded on our trip
