Hello, I’m Pete from the Car Genius team at RepairPal. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this concern on your Buick Enclave. Fault code P0496 indicates that the EVAP (fuel vapor system) has flow when it shouldn't have flow through that system. This is the computer letting you know that there is an issue with flow in the system. In allot of cases this can be caused by the purge valve itself failing to where it is stuck on and needing to be replaced, but this can also be caused by a failing fuel tank pressure sensor, a broken or disconnected EVAP pipe, or even a wiring or computer concern internally. I recommend having this fault code diagnosed properly to pinpoint which component is creating this issue so it can then be repaired. The purge solenoid on this model should be located beneath the throttle body near the intake. It should have a couple of hoses/plastic pipes connected to it as well as a single electrical connector.
