trunk, inside light, working backward, closed= on?

This (Might) be an indication that one or more of the cars light bulbs are out. Why replacing the white reverse light bulb caused the door/trunk ajar light on the dash to finally go out, it also stopped the trunk light from lighting up when closed. Doesn't light up when open either but there is no progress without change. Ill change the out glove box bulb and see what that does for me.

Found frayed wires in the trunk hinge harness. 3 wires with exposed copper and one wire completely broken. still have to replace the left front turn signal socket and then trace yet another short in the trip odometer and trans position indicator (D P R etc.) intermittent failure there.
