What is your question?
This started out as the bulb frequently burning out (about once a month). Now the directional light doesn't light or flash at all. This is a dual filament bulb and the second filament does light (with headlight switch). I disconnected the bulb and checked with a test light at the socket (no flashing) and then at the connector of the headlamp assembly (wires for all lights in headlight including turn signal). No flashing there either. So, where does the turn signal driver initiate? Is this a relay somewhere or are these flashers; and where is it? Driver's side works fine, read works okay accept for the right one that flashes twice as fast (I understand because of the lesser load from the front one seeming open). Would appreciate any advice.
Matte, thanks for the response. I am thinking that a new socket will not help because even when I removed the whole headlight assembly connector, I do not see the flashing. So, it would seem it is before the headlight assembly connector. Do you know where the module that controls the turn signals is? Anyone? TIA
I don't know where the module is or honestly even whether you've got one. I'd guess you do, but not sure. I'd turn to a repair manual to figure it out. You can try one online--they cost money, but not too much. http://bit.ly/mitchell_repair_manuals_online You may be able to find the info free on Autozone's website, but it's not as complete and helpful.
I have had problems with my 95 Buick Regal turn signals. After trouble shooting (ruling out bulbs, sockets, flasher relay) I have narrowed it down to the wiring ring in the steering column. My Chilton book shows how to get into it by removing the steering wheel and a series of barriers. I have yet to tackle this one; wish me luck.
