What is your question?
Have 150K miles on it and just replaced, radiator, ball joints, arms, front brakes, new tires, battery, and front end alignment. This happens between second and third gear on my automatic transmission (25 to 40 mph). It seems to spin, then catch, and accelarate, the RPMs jump up and down when this happens. Any advise? Computer can't find anything wrong,,,,mechanic wants to replace shocks due to leaking but don't think this is my issue for this problem,,,thanks!

check your pulleys. Remove serpentine belt and if the noise stops, the bearings are gone in one of your pulleys. I had to replace my belt tensioner pulley at 150,000 miles for the same reason
Sounds like you need to bring it where you can have it looked at with confidence. We can take a peek at it and see what that noise is.
It sounds like a sticking shift solenoid or servo. Put a bottle of "Trans Medic" in the transmission and drive it for a few days, then bring it in for a fluid and filter change. Tell the tech to also check the trans cooler thermostat as well, as it could be causing the fluid to run too hot.
Just making sure - is this safe for a BMW? Most dealers tell you do NOT add anything non BMW - this could be to make money but just doublechecking,,,don't want them to then tell me I need a new transmission because I used this product.....I have a reputable mechanic but he doesn't have a diagnostic computer. The mechanic with the computer told me it was the battery, so I replaced that yesterday but nothing has changed.
I would *****NOT***** put ANYTHING in the transmission right now. Until its properly diagnosed, you're just shooting in the dark. We are open M-F 8-6, and honestly- If you have a reputable mechanic but doesn't have a scanner for this car, its not a reputable mechanic.
Thanks!!! I cannot take time off to drive up there and it's an hour North of me. Other than a BMW dealership out here, any suggestions? I have tried several places over the last thrre years since I moved here from Los Angeles but have yet to find someone who isn't shooting in the dark everytime I take it in,,,those shots are getting expensive! Just need the car for the next year til 2016 models come out!
I completely understand. We have lots of clients who take the trip because its fixed right!
Please let me know if you are open on Saturday and how long this might take to diagnose - I am in the Clear Lake area.
