Dealership spending 7 hours replacing a SAS on my 2001 z3 roadster. REALLY?? Seems a bit ridiculous. Why so long? ( maybe tech took a 3 hour lunch?) please explain
What makes this problem better or worse?
Spending more time at the dealer ( worse for my wallet better for the dealer)

Labor time to replace the steering angle sensor on a 2001 BMW per a reference guide shows about 3.4 hours. That said, many factors figure into the time taken to do a job. It could be that a less efficient tech performed it. It could be that there were unusual abnormalities with your vehicles that extended the repair times. Too hard to say without seeing the work in process and assessing.
