I have a 97 1.9 Z3 with a AC problem. The air doesn't get very cold when it is fully charged. It also is moist in the car when the AC is running. Any ideas, service mechanics just add freon and say it's okay. Don't live close to a BMW dealership. Thanks for any help. Nick

Not too sure but putting it out there The mechanic should have known this but the A/C system is weight charged not pressure charged and the amount of A/C gas deposited is specified on a sticker under the bonnet somewhere. Low gas can create low A/C efficiency , the temperature at the vent should be 5`C at the lowest fan speed
Have you checked the cooling fan operation. I had a blown fuse for the cooling fan and my AC only worked while the car was moving. After replacing the fuse and getting the fan operating it is much better. Also heard that a bad fan clutch on the mechanical fan can limit cooling. CJ
