What is your question?
I feel some vibration in my X5 (2019) when turning left and right at very low speeds at the beginning of acceleration. Every time I want to accelerate and turn the steering wheel left or right, I feel a vibration throughout the body of the car. But it's often inaudible if you're not paying close attention or if you accelerate hard. I don't feel this vibration if the steering wheel is straight. My BMW dealer told me the problem might be with the transfer case. They can fix it in two ways: change the oil or replace the transfer case. I'm not sure their diagnosis is accurate because someone else told me the problem might be with the engine mount. I don't feel comfortable starting to disassemble the car if I'm not sure what the problem is. Any help?

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Your instinct to get a second opinion before authorizing major work is a smart one. Vibration when turning at low speeds during acceleration on an AWD vehicle like this could point toward the transfer case or front differential, where worn fluid causes the clutch pack to shudder rather than engage smoothly. The fluid change is a reasonable and inexpensive first step before jumping to a full transfer case replacement. An engine mount could cause vibration but typically not specifically when turning so that explanation is a little less convincing.
