2012 bmw x5/n55 motor blown so swapped out with n55 motor from 335i...do i need to have pcm reprogramed to make it run properly//throwing several codes and runs like shit also am trying to use engine control module from 335

Motor swap and possible pcm or engine control module failure.. x5 n55 motor blew up found n55 out of 335i and swapped out...using 335i engine control module because x5 original control module touched against hot wire and arched so I suspect it had to of got damaged... I only hope it didn't also possibly damage the pcm...

It's just not compatible like that. This isn't 1965 anymore, and it's not a Chevrolet. You can't just expect to swap powertrain parts from a 335 sedan to an X5 SAV -- if you have unlimited time and patience and money you can make anything work. Otherwise, just get the right engine for the right vehicle.
