Drivers side door will not unlock with key. Will still lock & unlock from inside

Just had new battery installed. Prior to new battery, I was able to unlock drivers side door with key, but not able to lock from the outside. Now When I insert key in drivers door nothing happens. From the inside all doors lock, including drivers door? Currently in garage because I cannot lock door. I read it could be the actuator. If so, could a novice attempt to replace?
