minutes the engine hits and starts like nothing was wrong. when it refuses to start, only the engine symbol lights up.

your fuel pump could be going out. Or it could be an ignition cylinder, tps, or temp sensor

there is no grinding of the engine. everything is silent until the start button is pushed one final time which the car starts. what can I CROSS off the list?
