Punched accelerator to pass up a car on highway and drive train malfunction appeared on screen my car lost power and I pulled over and put in park and it began shaking and idling roughly

What makes this problem better or worse?

Well when I try to accelerate it just doesn't respond like it should it gradually picks up speed
