How to manually release 2002 BMW 745i hood catch latch

What is your question?

So I popped the hood from inside the car but when I went to release the catch latch in front of the hood , it broke. Now the lever is loose and my hood is half open. Do you know how to manually release the catch latch? The catch latch is located right in the middle of the nose, just behind the grill.

What makes this problem better or worse?
