If you’ve just installed a new battery and the engine won’t turn over, and it previously, here are a couple potential issues. Check if your battery cables are tight. They shouldn’t be able to move by hand when you wiggle the terminal at the battery posts. Defective New Battery: It’s also wise to test the new battery to ensure you didn’t get a defective one. If at any point the battery was accidentally connected backwards (negative to positive and positive to negative) there could be troublesome electrical issues causing the condition.
