transmission shift locked in place

What is your question?

car did not start two weeks ago, jumped and started.. battery icon shows. Car has been running fine otherwise. Pulled car in garage yesterday tried to restart, started but hard.Tried to shift but locked and won't move. Transmission fault light on display, red clutch display with ! inside.

Looks like the alternator failed. If the sufficient voltage is missing from the control modules you will experience failures, if you keep trying to start it with low voltage you can permanently damage components. Find a good BMW specialty shop in your area and get it towed there. Zee

Most likely need to replace the alternator and maybe battery, the transmission light is probably on because of low voltage to the modules.
