My 06 530xi makes a thumping and hesitating sound when I accelerate

Hello, Check those motor mounts. Open the hood and watch the motor. Have someone hold the brake and set the park brake, then shift from drive to reverse, allowing the transmission to engage for a second between shifts. If you see the motor rockin and rollin, change those mounts.
