What is your question?
What battery can be used in the 2005 530i versus the dealer battey which cost over $400 to replace? I saw several recommendations for the AutoZone Duralast battery with 850cranking amps in cold weathe and 1000cranking amps. What are your thoughts or options?

Most aftermarket battery manufactures should have listings for your 2005 BMW 530i. Be sure to use a quality battery specifically recommended for your BMW. If you are planning to replace the battery yourself I would recommend that you use some kind of back-up power supply when disconnecting the battery. Some computers on newer cars can loose important data if the battery is disconnected with out a back-up power supply.
Interstate Batteries builds the batteries and labels them for BMW. The 530i uses an Interstate # H9-110. The same one without the BMW label will run around $150.00. Be sure to keep the electrical system hot. I used a booster battery on the jumper posts under the hood and also a trickle charger plugged into the cig. lighter. (Be sure to have the connections made and the ignition in the run position before disconnecting the bat. cables.
