Anyone expereince any problems with transmission?

What is your question?

I was driving and a warning appeared on my dash, Transmission default, drive cautiously. My car slowed down to about 40, wouldn't accelerate. I had it towed to the dealer, now waiting to hear back from them. my car has about 95xxx miles. Any ideas of what it could be? I hope I dont' need a new tranny.
