sunroof repair or replace

What is your question?

the cable and/or motor (motor still work) are not allowing moonroof to operate properly, especially closing. So I cranked it closed but it has to be repaired. Is that possible, or will it need replacement?

What makes this problem better or worse?

haven't tried anything else, for fear of it being stuck open (that would suck)
